Fees/Rebates

You may be eligible to receive a portion of your speech therapy fees back.
See the below information about the health rebates and financial assistance.

Private Health Insurance

Speech pathology services may be eligible for you to claim through your private health insurance. The extent of your cover depends on the type of policy and extras you select. There are various limits that may apply, for example a limit per service, per year, or lifetime limits. Check with your private health insurer for more details.

To find out how much you are entitled to receive, please contact your insurance provider. The item codes are initial appointment (S320) and therapy (S340).

Please note that fees need to be paid in full at the time of your appointment. You will then receive a receipt to allow you to claim from your health fund.

Medicare

If you are referred by a GP under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan,  your child may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on up to 5 speech therapy sessions services per calendar year (please contact your GP to discuss eligibility). Please note that there will be an out-of pocket expense for services provided by Kids' Speech Therapy.

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme may be available for those with developmental delays or disabilities. The NDIS early childhood approach is available to all children aged under 7 with a developmental delay or disability. Depending on your situation, the NDIS can cover the cost of many allied health services.
Kids’ Speech Pathology only provides services to self-managed NDIS clients.
